FAQs

1. Where do you ship from and how often?

I ship from Minneapolis, MN. Shipping is Monday and Tuesday of every week. There will be exceptions during weeks with federal holidays.

2. How long is handling/processing time? How long will it be before my order ships?

I ship every week and will typically ship out plants the following Monday or Tuesday after an order is placed. Processing and shipping time can be delayed if there is a federal holiday during the week as I don’t want any plants to sit in boxes longer than they need to. I also like to time shipping based on destination as I know USPS can take longer to sort and deliver to customers in certain cities or regions. As an example, I have learned that shipping to New York state or city can take an extra day for sorting and I prefer to only ship to this location on Mondays.

3. Do you charge for heat packs or insulation?

Currently, heat packs and insulation are included free of charge and are used based on the weather here in Minnesota and at the plant’s destination. I do reserve the right to change this policy in the future, but for now I have decided that it is not fair for someone to pay extra because I happen to live in an unpredictable climate.

4. Even with heat packs and insulation, do you ship when it is cold?

Yes. Because I reside where I do, I have extensive cold weather shipping experience. That being said, there may be periods of time during the winter this shop may be closed or shipping may be delayed due to extreme cold or the mess of holiday shipping delays on the part of the carriers.

5. Are plants shipped potted or bare-root?

Many, if not most, of the plants I sell are in 4-inch pots or smaller and will ship potted. Plants in larger than a 4-inch pot may be shipped bare root wrapped in moss as shipping that much soil adds extra weight and extra cost. If a plant will be shipped bare-root, this will be noted in the listing.

6. Are all of your plants in soil or do you also use leca or pon?

The majority of my plants are in chunky soil/aroid mix made by me. There are some exceptions that are potted in moss and perlite. Leca and pon are not my preferred substrates.

7. Do you ship to other countries or export your plants?

I currently ship only to the contiguous United States (lower 48) though I do have hopes to export to Canada in the future. Minnesota is basically south Canada and our neighbors to the north like plants too.

8. Will your shop remain small?

For now, yes. Though I have hundreds of unique plants, I also have a full time job outside of my business and need to maintain a manageable inventory for shipping. Buyers can always feel free to reach out if something is out of stock as I may have more available or propagations that are rooting or growing.
